"Hill's love-weary voice recalls breathy country legends like Emmylou Harris and the resolve of Stevie Nicks." - The Village Voice.
Carrie Ashley Hill did not grow up singing or playing an instrument, but in 2010 started writing songs when she found herself brokenhearted and stranded in Trinidad, Colorado.
Since then she spent a few years in a pop/psych/shoegaze band called Desert Stars and released her debut ep Me et All August 2013, comprised of these first songs. She followed that up with a 7" Found You in 2014, a collaboration with husband Jeff Berrall of Caveman. November 2015 she released her debut full length album, Orion, Low in the Sky. The pair recently released a full length as Chest High Fires, recorded upstate at Outlier Studios in celebration of their marriage.
CAH is 5th generation Texan who resides in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and son.
